Sport is very much part of our curriculum at Shanghai United International School Pudong Campus. Engagement in sport not only aids our students’ physical development, improving their coordination and developing their skills in a variety of sports, but also helps them to learn how to be part of a team.

Through sporting competition we encourage leadership and emphasise the importance of sportsmanship. We believe it is important for our students experience and celebrate success and, equally, to learn how to lose a match or tournament with grace.

Shanghai Schools Sports Association – Secondary students play high quality competitive sport in the SSSA leagues, with opportunities to ensure that young sportsmen and sportswomen are playing at the right level to challenge and develop them. Students have the experience of playing in football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and basketball tournaments as well as competing in cross-country, swimming and athletics events. Intense but friendly rivalries with other schools help to build team spirit, and our students learn to win well and lose with grace developing a determination to learn from their mistakes.
