SUIS Pudong is a member of the largest educational not-for-profit organization (Xiehe) in Shanghai. Our school is the only one in Xiehe that uses the same curriculum in a whole-through ‘East meets West’ primary and secondary programme on the same campus. We seek qualified and experienced teachers to join us in maintaining our excellent reputation for international education here in China. In 2016, SUIS Pudong achieved the best IGCSE results in Shanghai gaining 100% A*-C and 78% A*-A grades with each student typically taking eight subjects. This set a new record in Xiehe history far surpassing all previous performances. Our school adopts the National Curriculum for England (NCfE) throughout as its foundation in preparation for pupils to be admitted to the best universities in the world. This ensures our students gain a consistent education, while transition from Primary and Secondary is excellent. At Secondary School, students will take IGCSE and A Levels to complete their educational pathway.
The Primary School (ages 5-11) is currently well established with approximately 450 pupils while the Secondary is a growing and thriving school with more than 250 students (aged 11-18) starting from August 2017. Both schools have earned many awards and achievements. Our Primary students came first in Asia and in the top ten in the world, in Mathletics and the World Education Games respectively – the largest online competitions of their type on earth. All students are gifted and talented and admission to the school is highly competitive. Given the strong demand for places, we have to reject more than 600 student applications every year. English, Chinese and Spanish (Secondary) are studied with classes arranged for first and additional language speakers separately in each, thereby demonstrating our strong commitment to educating our students in the world’s three foremost languages spoken by the majority of people on the planet.
Our school community is renowned for its creative and nurturing approach. Both Primary and Secondary school productions were written and performed by our students and the musical score composed by our teachers. This is a cultural tradition we are proud of and aim to continue.
