On April 28, 2017, SUIS new ice hockey team “the Dralions” took part in the first Shanghai Youth Ice Hockey School Tournament. The team finally won the “championship of the Tournament”.

The Shanghai Youth Ice Hockey School Tournament was held in Songjiang Collegiate Gymnasium from April 28 to 30, 2017. Hundreds of players from seven schools, including SUIS, Shanghai High School International Division, Xinghewan Primary School, Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School, Shanghai Experimental School, SMIC Private School and Shanghai Pinghe Bilingual School, had attended the tournament.

SUIS Dralions team was composed of 9 players from SUIS Pudong and the coaches were Mr. Guo Dachuan and Ms. Huo Cui from Feiyang Eagles Ice Hockey Club, which made the team the strongest one in the tournament.

As the only team which did not invite any outside player to help, the team lost the first two games on the first day due to lack of necessary time to get along with each other. However, the SUIS players didn’t give up and kept on fighting, filled with their passion for the game. The team finally won the following 4 games over the next two days and ranked No. 1.

The team was finally awarded the champion trophy and the team members were issued the certificate for the championship.

Yuan Tianqi from SUIS Shangyin and several players from SUIS Hongqiao had also joined the team.

The players from SUIS Dralions Ice Hockey team, through this game, gained not only the award and progress, but also the spirit of hard-work, cooperation and team-work.

Appreciate every players for the reputation gained for the team and for the school. Every audience was deeply moved by their effort, hard-work, teaming spirit. We are all proud of every and each of them.
