With autumn in the air and the sweet scent of osmanthus all around, 85 students from our Premier Classes celebrated their long-awaited tenth birthday together on 30 October.

A gentle breeze swept through Xinghuo Rose Campsite as children, parents and teachers gathered with laughter and anticipation. Turning ten marks a meaningful milestone—a time to cherish childhood memories and step towards new adventures. The children captured their journeys in their Growth Journals, filled with memories of growing up and the love and support of their families and teachers.

Ten is a new beginning. Filled with joy and excitement, the children celebrated this special moment with carefully prepared song and dance performances, sharing their talents and progress with the parents and teachers who had accompanied them along the way.

After sharing their confidence on stage, the children joined their parents for a quieter moment of listening and connection. Before the event, parents and children had each written a letter to the other. Now, they exchanged letters and read their heartfelt words together. The children expressed their gratitude and shared their thoughts and wishes, while parents reflected on memories of their children growing up and offered hopes for the years ahead. These letters gave voice to love that often goes unspoken, helping parents better understand their children’s inner worlds and children appreciate more deeply their parents’ constant care.

Then came the moment to light the birthday candles and make a wish. May every child’s dreams come true.

Time together is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children. After lunch, the children changed into their PE uniforms for an afternoon of games and activities. From the Tower of Hanoi and a team drawing challenge to five-in-a-row, football and a tortoise-and-hare race, there was plenty to keep everyone thinking, moving and laughing.

“A Decade of Growing, a Future of Dreams.” As the children turn ten, they grow through exploration, learn gratitude through the care they receive, and begin to understand what it means to take responsibility. The bright smiles and heartfelt wishes of this day will become treasured memories along the way. With this love and encouragement, may they stay curious, embrace new experiences and take each step towards the future they dream of.
