Our school community is once again filled with pride as we celebrate the achievements of our students at the 2026 World Scholar’s Cup Shanghai Regional Round held this April. Across our Pudong campuses, 60 students competed in the Senior and Junior divisions, going up against some of the best schools in Shanghai and coming away with results we are truly proud of.

The Senior Division had 20 teams (60 students), while the Junior Division had 110 teams (330 students). Competing at this scale makes what our students achieved even more impressive.

Our scholars brought home 126 gold medals, 121 silver medals, and 6 trophies.

PART 01

Rising to Every Challenge

This year’s results reflect both individual brilliance and real depth across our entire team. From the first event to the last, our students showed up ready to compete.

PART 02

Teamwork That Delivered

In the Senior Division, one of our teams was outstanding, finishing #1 and #3 in Team Bowl, #2 in Team Debate, #4 in Team Writing, and #2 Overall Team, results that placed them among the very best in the competition.

In the Junior Division, our teams faced a field of 110 teams and still came away with top finishes, including #2 in Team Debate, #3 in Team Challenge, and #6 Overall Team.

PART 03

Scholars Who Stood Out

In the Senior Division, Nam Liu and Prajikta Rana both had excellent Debate performances, finishing #1 and #5 respectively among 60 competitors.

In the Junior Division, Charlie Li and Tim Hu led the way in Debate, with Charlie finishing #1 and Tim placing #3 among 330 students. Tiffany Antonio earned gold medals across Debate, Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and team events, showing just how capable she is across every part of the competition. Vedant Sharma ranked among the top students in the Scholar’s Challenge and recorded the highest score in Social Studies.

Olivia Zhang, a Grade 4 student, was one of the most impressive performers of the competition. She placed highly in Debate and Writing, earned multiple gold medals, and competed confidently against much older students. Her achievement was remarkable given the level of competition.

PART 02

Our Top All-Round Performers

The Champion Scholar ranking measures a student’s overall performance across Debate, Writing, and the Scholar’s Challenge. It is the clearest picture of how a student performed across the whole competition.

In the Senior Division, Nam Liu finished #3, Annabelle Quirk placed #6, and Prajikta Rana came in at #9 in the Overall Champion Scholar rankings.

In the Junior Division, Tiffany Antonio finished #3 and Olivia Zhang placed #8.

PART 03

Looking Ahead to Yale and Beyond

These results mean more than medals and trophies. They reflect months of preparation, the courage to compete on an international stage, and the joy of learning alongside teammates. Our students return with sharper thinking, greater confidence, and memories they will carry for a long time.

With 6 trophies, 126 gold medals, and 121 silver medals from a single regional round, our SUIS Pudong scholars continue to set a standard we are very proud of.

The Global Round and the Tournament of Champions at Yale University are next. The best, we believe, is still to come.

Congratulations to all our scholars and coaches on this outstanding achievement.
