As the winter breeze brushes through the campus, SUIS Pudong is brimming with warmth and excitement. On the afternoon of January 6, our Grade 1 and 2 students embarked on a delightful adventure with their themed stamp cards in hand, ready to tackle a series of fun-filled challenges.
Grade 1 students dived into the thrilling “Pirate Treasure Hunt,” featuring five math challenges: Pattern Hunter, Symbol Kingdom, Treasure Sequence, Skip Counting Fun, and Mystery Numbers. Exploring the fascinating world of numbers, they shared math stories, searched for numerical friends, and discovered their own “mathematical treasures.”
Meanwhile, Grade 2 students ventured into an “Ice and Snow” wonderland. They faced challenges such as the Snowy Arithmetic Contest, Geometric Duel Arena, Venn Diagram Adventures, Snowy Shape Workshop, and Frozen Math Encounters. From designing unique ski routes to solving mathematical mysteries at Queen Elsa’s celebration, every moment was an exciting journey of discovery.
Inspired by the “Spring Festival Carnival,” Grade 1 students engaged in cheerful activities like “Pinyin Candy,” “Character Twister,” and the “Memory Wheel.” Orderly and confident, they embraced each challenge with a sense of accomplishment.
Grade 2 activities built on this joy with added complexity, featuring games like “Lucky Picks,” “Gold Nugget Grab,” and “Dice Toss.” Each challenge encouraged multidimensional skills, from fluent reading and memorization to creative interpretation and expression. Free from the pressure of assessments, students found a perfect balance between focus and fun.
This engaging event seamlessly integrated learning with play, allowing students to absorb knowledge while enjoying the process. SUIS Pudong will continue exploring innovative and diverse approaches to education, creating a vibrant, stress-free learning environment to support the development of the SUIS PD Qualities.
