Dear Parents,
Despite the extremely wet weather we have experienced recently, some really exciting Field Trips have taken place. This week Grade 5 managed to reschedule their trip to the Wild Animal Park after having to postpone last week because of rain. On Thursday Grade 4 went to the Glass Museum. This museum is very well laid out and well worth a visit. Today Grade 1 went to the Dinosaur Section of the Natural History Museum. Plenty of learning takes place on these field trips and they also take a lot of planning to make them safe and worthwhile.
Please take note of the new Homework Policy document which is attached to this newsletter. The policy, which has been reviewed and updated by the leadership team, will come into effect on Monday 9 October. The main feature of the changes is to ensure standardisation of homework across the primary school.
There has been increased illness throughout the school during the current change of seasons. Please could we remind parents that sick children should not be sent to school so they can recover quickly and also not spread the illness. If the school nurse calls to inform you that your child needs to be taken home due to illness, please respond as quickly as possible.
The medical certificate has been issued in the name of the child whose parents purchased the insurance this week. Please keep it safe once you have received it. Should you have any questions about this benefit, please consult the child’s hospitalisation mutual fund management office: 021-52122999.
The school is aware that a malicious rumour has been circulating regarding the canteen. This has been investigated and we are satisfied that the hygiene standards are upheld according to government regulations.
We wish all our families all the best during the coming National Holiday week. Enjoy the Mooncakes!!
Regards,
Mr. James Morris Ms. Jane Alston
