On Friday, 29 May, students from Grades 1 to 5 showcased their scientific discoveries at the EWU/ISP Science Fair. This year’s theme, “Going Green,” encouraged students to explore environmental challenges and possible solutions.

The Science Fair was the culmination of our school-wide Science Month celebration. More than 140 student teams first participated in classroom competitions before selected projects advanced to the final showcase.

Beginning on 20 May, students worked individually or in teams to design experiments, conduct research, and investigate environmental issues. Following classroom presentations and judging, one outstanding project from each class was selected to represent their peers at the Science Fair.

Each project followed the scientific method and included a clear question, hypothesis, observations, results, and conclusion.

Beyond recognizing outstanding projects, the Science Fair helped students develop important skills in collaboration, research, presentation, and critical thinking. Teachers were impressed by the students’ curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities as they confidently shared their learning.

The 2026 EWU/ISP Science Fair has come to a successful close. At this wonderful event, teachers and students alike experienced the wonders of science and fostered a strong sense of environmental responsibility. We look forward to seeing these young scientists keep exploring, experimenting, and working together to build a lush and beautiful planet.
