“There is great beauty in the world, though it speaks no words.”

Inspired by this ancient wisdom, SUIS Pudong launched a special spring-themed arts initiative. Blending visual arts with nature, mathematics, literature, and social studies, students explored what we call a “spring classroom you can touch.”

With keen eyes, skillful hands, and thoughtful hearts, our students captured the essence of spring through art. In the spirit of the Preface to the Orchid Pavilion, they entered into a creative dialogue that bridges natural appreciation and cultural heritage.

Grade 3 Numbers in Nature, Words in Bloom

Writing the code of growth, capturing the moment of sprouting—our third graders became little “Plant Observers.”By combining their Chinese class observation journals with storyboard techniques from their art lessons, they created their very own “My Plant Growth Comic.”

Grade 4 Spring Awakens – Buzzing Life Reimagined

Our young artists founded the “Spring Insects & Birds Creative Workshop”! With imaginative hands and curious minds, they explored the wonders of the natural world through three delightful activities.

Grade 5 Echoes of the Orchid Pavilion – Ancient Wisdom, Modern Art

Drawing inspiration from the line “Looking up, I behold the vastness of the universe; looking down, I observe the abundance of all things,” students stepped into a springtime aesthetic classroom under the open sky.

Through nature exploration, art creation, cultural reflection, and ecological practice, they blended tradition with creativity—using acrylic markers instead of brushes, tents instead of pavilions. As ancient wisdom met modern expression, a timeless encounter between culture and art quietly unfolded.
