On March 26, the long-awaited Cultural Diversity Fair brought a burst of color and energy to the SUIS Pudong primary school. A corner of the school was magically transformed into a vibrant world map, where each booth represented a different country or region. Students became young cultural ambassadors, proudly guiding their peers through immersive, hands-on experiences. More than a celebration of global cultures, the fair was a vivid demonstration of SUIS Pudong’s Eight Core Qualities in action.
Here, culture was no longer something read about in books—it came alive through creativity, play, and discovery. Students painted, danced, crafted, tasted traditional foods, tried their hand at classic games, and wore diverse cultural attire. From recreating ancient symbols to learning greetings in foreign languages, each booth sparked curiosity and joy. These experiences not only brought cultures to life, but also allowed students to demonstrate Responsibility, Creativity, and Resilience—courageously taking on the task of representing and sharing the richness of different traditions.
What made this cultural celebration even more special was the heartfelt support of our parent volunteers. They generously dedicated their time to preparing authentic local dishes and thoughtfully curating the booths. Their warm involvement added a meaningful personal touch, helping children connect more deeply with the cultures on display. Through this sharing, students practiced Respect and Community, learning to approach all cultures with empathy and an open heart.
The entire campus radiated a spirit of warmth and inclusion. Students weren’t just participants—they were leaders and storytellers, guiding their peers and sharing knowledge with pride. This spirit of collaboration fostered deeper friendships and strengthened students’ sense of service, encouraging them to Collaborate, Reflect, and strive for Excellence.
The Cultural Diversity Fair provided a powerful platform for students to explore the world while developing key competencies that will serve them for life.
Education, at its heart, is about more than academics. When students engage with the world through play, creativity, and cooperation, their understanding deepens, and their empathy grows. This fair wasn’t just an event—it was a joyful expression of “unity in diversity”, proving that our differences, when celebrated, make us stronger and more connected.
