On March 16th, the Star Choir from MS and the Shine Choir from PS of our campus participated in the 2025 Youth/Children Choir Festival, which was held at Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong’s Mei Lan Fang Theatre. This is also the second time that the SUIS Pudong Choir has been invited to participate in this event. This event was organized by the Biyun Community Committee and Community Center Shanghai. The choir members performed excellently. With their outstanding singing skills and good artistic expressiveness, they won unanimous praise from the audience. This event united five schools and student choir groups from Shanghai. The choir of our school demonstrated the fruitful achievements of the school’s art education with its excellent performance.

From the moment we received the invitation for the performance to the actual stage appearance, there were only three weeks of preparation time. However, with the encouragement of the school leaders, the guidance of the choir teachers, the earnest training of all the students in the choir, and the support of the parents, we strived for perfection in every detail, from the selection of the repertoire to the arrangement of the vocal parts, from the training of pitch accuracy to the expression of emotions. The primary and middle school choirs carefully selected four songs—Snowflake, Papaya Song, Shine Like Stars, and The World’s Gift to Me—to deliver a high-quality performance in both Chinese and English, featuring multi-part harmonies that conveyed a message of peace and friendship. Snowflake and Shine Like Stars were accompanied by student musicians, showcasing the solid artistic foundation of SUIS Pudong students.

This event is an important display of the achievements of our school’s art education and has also injected new impetus into the school’s future artistic development. Our school will continue to uphold the educational philosophy of “educating people with beauty and influencing people with culture”, providing students with more stages to showcase their talents and helping them to keep moving forward on the path of art.
