In the sprawling expanse of the Gobi Desert, a spirited team is weaving the tapestry of youth with their sweat and resilience. They are the Lions from SUIS Pudong Campus. Seventeen strong, they’ve spent three days and nights conquering this terrain, embracing the challenge and growth at every turn.

Resilience Amidst the Sands
Facing the unforgiving environment of the desert, the SUIS Lions members didn’t flinch; instead, they showed even more grit. Under the blazing sun, over the golden sands, they marched forward with unwavering determination, each step a testament to their resilience. In this barren yet vast land, they learned to embrace solitude, confront adversity, and with courage and perseverance, they etched their own saga.
Collaboration in Adversity
Their desert odyssey was also a test of collaboration and teamwork. They supported each other, confronting challenges as one cohesive unit. In the face of hardship, they didn’t falter but stood united, overcoming obstacles time and again with collective strength. They understood deeply that only by standing together could they conquer all obstacles.
After three days and nights in the desert, the entire SUIS Lions team safely crossed the finish line, clinching the “Shackleton” award symbolizing unity and perseverance, along with the bronze “Sun Wukong” award for overall performance. The primary school’s Mars team even secured an impressive third place. Hong Wei, a student, fearlessly claimed third place in the girls’ category, showcasing the strength and grace of women. Li Zhaoyi, another student, shattered school records with an impressive 2 hours and 40 minutes in the individual race on the third day, infusing the team with renewed vigor.

During this challenging expedition, several special mentors and companions, akin to radiant stars, infused the team with immense strength and unwavering encouragement.
Teacher Wang, the steadfast support of the girls’ team, exudes warmth and wisdom, offering solid support to the students in times of need.
And Teacher Xie, with the ruggedness of an old friend of the Gobi Challenge, embodies resilience and determination, leading by example and encouraging everyone to tap into their potential.
These remarkable mentors and companions not only provided tangible assistance but also offered endless encouragement and strength to the students. They are the guiding lights, making this journey richer and more unforgettable.
In the days ahead, the members of the SUIS Lions will carry these invaluable qualities forward, continuing to blaze trails and create even more remarkable chapters in the story of life!
