On August 30th, amidst laughter and cheer, the theme event of Shanghai River Regatta and Tomorrow’s Champions Championship on campus, took center stage at SUIS Pudong Kangqiao campus. This event brought together representatives from the world’s top U16 football teams and students of SUIS Pudong, who collectively shared in the cultures of football and rowing, and fulfill the original intention and mission of “nurturing future talents in the name of sports.”

This occasion marked the convergence of the prestigious “Tomorrow’s Champions Cup” football tournament and the “Shanghai River Regatta” at SUIS Pudong campus. Set to take place on September 16th, the Shanghai River Regatta stands as a pivotal IP showcasing the city’s image, and is expected to attract the world’s finest rowing teams. Simultaneously, the inclusion of a youth performance category adds diversity to the event, as rowing teams from various schools compete fiercely on the 500-meter urban sprint course.

As a rising star among top-tier youth football tournaments in recent years, the Shanghai Tomorrow’s Champions was seamlessly integrated into this event. Numerous international U16 football teams engaged in spirited competition with Shanghai’s U16 team, providing a thrilling prelude to the impending tournaments.

At the event site, students from SUIS Pudong campus interacted actively with representatives from the eight U16 football teams. SUIS Pudong students presented each participating team with specially crafted SUIS bear mascots, symbolizing friendship and collaboration. In return, the Tomorrow’s Champions players reciprocated by gifting their respective team jerseys, expressing gratitude to SUIS Pudong students.

In a remarkable moment, Mr. Lin Yi, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Football Association, presented a customized home jersey of the Shanghai team to Mr. Zhu Junwei, General Manager of Shanghai Donghao Lansheng Event Management Co., Ltd. They jointly showcased the championship trophy of the Shanghai River Regatta. Ms. Chen Xiaoyun, the Chairman of the Xiehe Education Development Foundation stated in her address that this event harmoniously united “Tomorrow’s Champions Cup” football tournament and the “Shanghai River Regatta”, representing a significant milestone in school sports culture. SUIS has always upheld the principle of merging Eastern and Western cultures in education, providing comprehensive growth experiences for students. This event serves as a powerful embodiment of the school’s mission.
