Book Week 2020-2021

During the month of October, SUIS students have read to help their house win phints for the 2020 House Reading Competition. This year we held the Book Week for the whole school through October 26th to October 30th.

Once each student read for 100 minutes, he/she filled in a slip and put it in the House box so that teachers counted how much time each House has read. Altogether, SUIS students have read 181100 minutes, and among which, the Blue House 47600 minutes, the Green House 41100 minutes, the Red House 43500 minutes and the Yellow House 48900 minutes.

Meanwhile, we have received beautiful book mark designs from all SUIS students and interesting story videos from secondary students. We would like to thank all of them!

On Friday October 30th, with cheerful music and a great atmosphere, students from the whole campus dressed up as their favorite book characters and had a whole-school parade on the playground.

Let’s appreciate the effort from all the students and see who the best dressed winners are. Well done everyone!

最佳着装获奖学生感想

5C 阴奕萱 ：
我今天装扮的人物是花木兰，因为我很佩服花木兰不畏艰难，替父从军的精神。在朝廷招兵御敌时，为了保护年老的父亲，她果断决定女扮男装替父从军，但她无法想象，等待她的将是无尽的阻碍与危险。最终，她用自己坚持不懈的努力和英勇无畏的精神取得了胜利。

5A 黄子赫 ：
我今天装扮的人物是哪吒。首先，我很喜欢中华神话故事人物，也觉得这些人物的故事十分精彩。最近，我在看《封神演义》，最喜爱的人物就是哪吒。虽然他以前在海里捣乱，而且杀了龙王的儿子敖丙，抽出了他的龙筋。但是龙王找他报仇时，他勇于担当，为了保住父母的性命，便拔剑自刎。后来，太乙真人念咒使他复活，交给他了几样法宝。接着，他便忠心耿耿地辅佐西周，帮助姬发拿到天下。他这种勇于担当和知错就改的精神使人敬佩，而且适合扮演，因此我扮演了哪吒。

7A 裘 真 ：
我为什么选体格与我相近的猪八戒呢？看了《西游记》，我被师徒四人不畏艰难的精神感动，四人中我更喜欢二师兄的憨厚、老实、可爱、善良，虽然他身上也有缺点“偷懒散漫”，但是他敢于说真话，不畏艰苦，勇敢坚强，最终取得真经。我要吸取猪八戒身上的优点，在学习方面我要勇往直前，奋力直追那些优秀的同学。

8B 李思源 ：
蔡文姬是建安时期的女诗人，博学有才，通晓音律。长大后她琴艺超人，在回汉后创作了《胡笳十八拍》，独自完成了四百篇文章。她才情之高、性情温柔，琴棋书画，无一不精。这就是我想装扮成她的原因，愿自己也能如这女子一般，才情横溢。

G4 Dragon Amily Zhou :
I dressed up as an astronaut. This charactor is from The Magic School Bus. In English class we learned a lot of things about an astronaut, so the things we learned in English class made me start to like astronauts.

G1 Lion Youpeng Ye :
I dressed up as Monkey King from Journey to the West. Because the Monkey King is very powerful. He can be changed 72 styles, he can fight demon with Zhu Bajie, Sha wujing, he helped Tang sanzang go to the west to see Buddha! He isn’t afraid of difficulties. They use team work very well.

G6 RO Ina Gunnesch ：
花木兰这个人物来自《花木兰》，我觉得花木兰是一个很典型的强壮与勇敢的女性代表，希望女性们可以从男性主义的历史中站起来。

G6 Momo Xu ：
苏妲己这个人物来自《封神演义》，妲己是位不折不扣的大反派，美艳妖娆，是一只狐狸精。但这是书中与传说故事当中所描述的她，历史上的妲己虽然也是个大美人，而且心狠手辣，却更为柔弱而真实。她这种亦正亦邪的多重性格和神秘感非常引人入胜。
