You may remember that G7 student Dara Lesniak and her team arranged our recent Halloween event in aid of this organization. Last week the student leaders went to give the money raised to the home and met some of the students that the money will directly help.

The centre cares for orphaned children – who due to illness and therefore medical expenses, cannot be supported in regular children’s homes. The centre looks after 28 babies at the moment and is growing all the time. Many of the children are adopted after being looked after at the home. The centre receives donations all the time but emphasized that what the children benefit from the most is love. The children want to play and the babies need to be held- so that is what our team did.

We were so impressed by the centre and the fantastic work that goes on there- it feels like such a happy place where the children can feel at home. We have decided to continue to support the home with fundraising but also with visits and are looking into a way that we can support their new pre school- all the children learn mandarin and English and we can help with that.

Our students were naturals, they jumped into the play pen and got involved, they were sensitive to some of the students’ complex needs and definitely made some new friends! Well done.
