Last Thursday, SUIS secondary were honored to witness an inspiring assembly from the Thrivers (women who had overcome breast cancer), and Suzanne Calton from More Than Aware.

Several months ago, we met Ms Calton at a sponsored breast cancer charity boxing event. It was an eye-opening occasion, which left us with extensive knowledge about the cause, and the desire to be part of a strong community. We thought it would be phenomenal if SUIS were to contribute to such a significant cause, and host our very first Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

The event took place on November the 16th 2017. After a stunning assembly from More Than Aware, students actively participated in the charity bake sale and table-top sale. People crowded into the classroom to buy goods on display and donate. Everyone was extremely supportive and generous.

By the end of the day, we had raised 8274 RMB in donations to More Than Aware as a school. Furthermore, nine people selflessly donated their hair for the production of wigs for breast cancer patients.
